Top 10 favorite products # 10: Garnier Fructis anti-humidity hair-spray. Volumizing formula

Hello!
okay, so this isn't a makeup product, but it is something that I use literally every day! I've bought this time and time again and I can't live without it! Its just a hairspray that you put in your hair when its dry...nothing too special about it other than the fact that I never get frizzy hair anymore! even in the fierce humidity this holds up to the challenge. here's what it looks like. I wear it everyday so its on me in literally every picture.
As for volumizing, my hair doesn't get very flat with this. I use it mainly for the humidity.

doing a "lets beat this humidity" face....it looks kind of funky...oh well

Do you have a case of the frizzy's??? have you tried this product? Tell me your thoughts!

As always I do not work for any makeup company, I am not getting paid for my review, and I bought this with my own money

Top 10 favorite products #9: Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion: for all skin types

HellO!
I missed blogging SOOOOO much!!!!!!!!!!! I've been so tired everyday I got home this week from working with my students! I've finally gotten used to waking up at 6 so I hope from now on I can do more blog posts since my eyes are no longer red the entire day.
This product is one that i use everyday on my face and neck. I have gross combination skin and this really is a great product for me. Here are the qualificaations:
1. helps restore skins natural protective barrier
2. keeps skin moisturized and hydrated
3. non-greasy formula leaves skin immediately soft and smooth.
4. Non-comedogenic
5. fragrance free
6. dermatologist recommended

pics:

this product is relatively cheap and lasts at least 6 months if you just use it for face and neck!

this does not break me out at all and keeps my makeup looking great and non powdery. We use Cetaphil soap on my dog since he has bad skin!

Top 10 favorite products # 8: Ulta single eyeshadow in Twilight

hey yall!

so todays post is my all time favorite eyeshadow! Ulta makes some amazing eyeshadows first of all and they are HUGE! each shadow is 3 grams! thats twice the size of an urban decay shadow and for like 7 or 8 dollars! You cannot beat it! This color is my all time favorite eyeshadow color and the one my mom says is "the most me." This shadow has been with me for 3 years or so and i've only used less than half of it. This is my go-to eyeshadow, however i can tend to forget about it when I get something new. I always come back to it however.
The color is a shimmery grey purple! this works great with either black or plum in the crease. Obviously use UD primer potion with any shadow. Photos don't do the shimmer in this product justice which is why I posted the pic above ^.
This product also tends to sell out whenever there is a new Twilight movie coming out although it has nothing to do with the series.
pics:

todays eye look: Ulta Twilight on the lid, Tarte for trueblood Telepath in the crease, and Tarte for trueblood Glamour me in the outer V and blended into the crease.

oh, and quick question! do i do a full smokey eye everyday??? I need your opinion on my eye makeup look because one of my cohort members said that I do...I don't believe it however! I've been trying to go more neutral for school....thoughts???

thanks for reading! :D

Top 10 favorite products # 7: Benefit creaseless cream eyeshadow in Skinny Jeans

You know when you have a product that feels like one of your friends??? Like a pair of jeans or a great purse that has been with you for many life experiences...well, this product is one of my best friends so to speak.
I've had this for wow...going on 3 years now. Benefit does not put the makeup expiration date on their products so I have no clue how long this is supposed to last. The color has not changed, it does not smell bad, and I always apply using a clean finger. Once this doesn't apply right it will be time for the can, but so far it seems to be going strong.
The deets: This product is creamy, does not crease, and it lasts for a very very long time on your lids! I always use primer but I have tried this without it and it is the only product i have where I actually don't need primer. I put it on anyways. I just use a clean finger to apply this ans smear it onto my lids. I blend it out with my finger as I go up. This works really well with black in the crease/out V.
The color is really unique, its a greyish silverish with some green in it! Its shimmery but not overpowering. It's beautiful, i've worn this color for Christmas, for graduation, for my art exhibits. Its been with me for the best of times and its a wonderful product. I wore this everyday for like a year because I loved it so much! Then i got afraid that it was going to dry out...it really hasn't. This shadow has won numerous awards and always looks great for fall/winter looks!

pics:

for some reason my camera does not like the light today...it kept doing this "soft focus" thing today....
I used Moss and Legend from the true blood palette in conjunction with this shadow. Skinny jeans is all over the lid, a tiny bit of moss in the crease, and legend in the outer V.

This was 19 dollars by the way.
Thanks for reading! DO you use Benefit eyeshows??? have you tried Skinny Jeans??? Let me know!

Top 10 Favorite Products #5: MAC FIX + skin refresher/ finishing mist

This is my favorite summer product!
This has cucumber extracts in it so its very cooling on the skin! This can be used to refresh tired makeup/skin and also can be used to set makeup. This doesn't make makeup impenetrable or make it last all day, but it helps set it and make everything look lovely and put together as a last step in your makeup routine. i spray two sprays on my tarte brush and stipple all over my face, gently tapping my lids last (before mascara...this can be a problem). I really don't like spraying this on my face and i feel like i get more product on much more evenly using a brush. Here are some pictures of using it to refresh my makeup...it's not a really big difference but it just helps.

the product:

Icky icky after work (school??? work...i dont know...)

gurl this shine is not okay...

time for a fierce battle:

TAH DAH! no makeup applied, just fix +

what do yall think??? I think it refreshes my face to make it look dewey and it feels clean! Do you have fix +??? what do you use it for!

thanks for reading!

Top 10 favorite products #4: Stila Convertible color in Peony

sorry about yesterdays post, it was a little bit jumbled because I was talking on the phone! anyways this is my favorite thing #4! I got this is a little Stila kit from ulta, it's probably half the size of what is sold but it's lasted me FOREVER! I got it really early this year and pretty much use it everyday, unless I want very toned down cheeks...This is a fantastic product that goes on smooth and has pretty good staying power. I like to use either a translucent powder over it or use another blush over it. They say you're supposed to put on a cream blush first and then a powder, I rarely do this but it locks in powder blush really well!
I don't use this as a lipstick, but you can if you like pale lips.

some pics:

i still have so much product!!! I can't even imagine going through the regular sized one!

this is pretty buildable, just wanted to do a closeup of my cheek

Thats my favorite blush! Thanks for reading?? Is there a stila convertible color blush that you love??? tell me about it!

Top 10 favorite products #3: Urban Decay Primer Potion Professional Size

Sorry I haven't updated in a while! I've been super busy these past few days!
anyways here's my favorite product i've ever owned, this is amazing, makes my shadows invincible, makes them virtually waterproof, and I never want to be without it!! i use this every day and it makes such a difference with my shadows! I also love the tube because it feels more sanitary than the bottle!

It makes such a big difference doesn't it? Do you have UDPP??? tell me if you love it or hate it!

i do not work for any makeup company, Urban Decay is not paying me to review, and i bought this with my own money.

Top 10 favorite products #2: Urban Decay De-slick in a tube

day #2 of the top 10 products! Todays review is UD's De-slick in a tube! I use this product everyday and its far from perfect but it helps alot with my oily t-zone (the nose and forehead area). The rest of my face is pretty average but I have a pretty slick nose I must admit. This works okay in the summer but it works very nicely in cool and moderate temperatures. in 100 + degree weather I wouldn't expect anything to work perfectly, though.
I brought out my new tube so that the pics are nice :) I use this everyday before I put my foundation on.

the product has a waxy consistency but it smooths on very nicely.

top 10 favorite products #1: Urban Decay liquid liner in Perversion

hellllllooooo!
I decided that I want to do my top 10 favorite makeup products, however this is going to be hard since I've already done reviews on some of my favorite things! oh well, i'll figure it out. Todays review is on my favorite liner in the world UD's liquid liner! This stuff has a wonderful consistency that isn't too thick or too runny, the brush applicator is so much better than the sponge tips, and also this creates a really nice bold line.

I actually wear this most days, at least 5 days a week if not 7. This has lasted me FOREVER! My best Trinity friend got this for me for Christmas but its always tradition for us to swap presents either the last week of November or the first week of December. Usually we can't make it to December. That being said I have yet to run out of the product, I can't really tell how much of the product is left but it's lasted me this long and I'm thrilled it has! I don't make the skinniest of lines either...
anyways if you're looking for something that lasts all day (but is not waterproof), glides on like a dream, and gives you that wonderful retro look then make haste and go to Ulta, Sephora, etc. and get yourself a bottle! (this also comes in a multitude of colors!)

Thanks for reading!

I do not work for any makeup company, Urban Decay is not paying me to review their product, and This was a gift that was bought with my friend's own money.

Brushes: sephora and Ulta and HEB

hey peeps!
So todays blog post is going to be about brushes!! I don't have any fancy MAC brushes or anything like that but I have had brushes that I don't like before (I'm looking at you Clinique!) so these are my favorite brushes.

me and my beloved shadow brushes:

Sephora brushes (from brush travel kit):

Angled Liner brush:
I love this brush!!! It works really well for applying cream liners and also for applying shadows wet or over another liner. This one is awesomely skinny and precise.

Eyshadow brush:
This brush is good because the bristles are long enough to apply the shadows nicely, some brushes with shorter bristles just don't seem to apply the product well.

Ulta ( I think all of them are from the professional collection):

Tapered Crease Eyeshadow Brush:
This is the best crease brush i've ever used!!!! its very tapered and you have ALOT less fallout than a fluffier crease brush. The one in the sephora travel kit I really don't like...

Smudge Brush:
EEEEEPPPP! This brush is awesome for blending and softening lines. Its so great! love it

Small shadow brush:
I like to use this for my highlights, it works really well for that.

Kabuki:
I love to use this for my bronzer because its not as dense as a foundation brush. This gives a nice wash of bronzer that is never too heavy. I wouldn't suggest this for foundation.

Tarte:

Tarte stiffling brush:
I got this with a purchase as a free gift! I love this for applying my powder foundation! (I don't wear liquid) this is a great bush and i'm so happy to own it! everything looks very natural and never over powdered.

HEB:

HEB blush brush:
This brush sheds alot but I like the shape of it. I might try and find a replacement sometime soon but it gets the job done and applies blush nicely.

(apparently it's one of those quirky days....)

thanks for reading! Hope this helps!

I do not work for any makeup company, noen of these companies are paying me to review their products, and I bought all of these with my own money.

Tarte for Trueblood "look a day" August 7th!

:D
SO I decided that these "look a day" posts would only last for a week and here is the last look! I decided that yall needed to see something with the green in it. This was a dilemma for me because my mom once told me that she hates green shadow because it looks so "stereotypical mexican." I actually agree with this statement as it makes me look very unlike myself.
Anyways I decided to use the green along the lashline instead of as a crease or lid shade. For this look I used Fairy as the lid shade, Werewolf as the crease shade, and Moss on the lashline.

Fairy as a lid shade: I prepped my lids with UD primer potion and then applied NYX milk to my lid and blended with my finger. Fairy is a very sheer color which makes it great for a highlight but not so great as a lid shade. I'm stubborn and I really wanted Fairy to show up and some of the pink to come out so the NXY milk helped alot with this! this is a great lid color and goes awesomely with the brown!

Werewolf: see previous posts.

Moss: I lined my eyes with Maybelline Line Sytlist in Onxy and with a liner brush smudged Moss ontop completely covering the black. I love this liner because it really locks the shadow into place and it does not come off. This looks gorgeous with the black base of the liner!!!! I smudged it a little above the liner as well for a softer look. I'm very very please with the way this came out!

pics:

I wish the camera captured the colors better but it does what it can :)

Conclusion to the trueblood looks!: (I bolded my favorite shadows in the palette)
I used the colors: The light, Fairy, Dusk, Werewolf, Waitress, Charmer, Glamour me, Stake, Bayou, Telepath, The True death, Moss, Legend, and V in these looks. I did not use Dawn, Nocturnal, or Immortal. The last two I didn't use because they are so bold and I really didn't have any place to be that called for anything quite that bold.
Thank you for reading and thank you for also bearing with me while I gush about this palette. I get very excited for good products and I had to do a more thorough review of this because of how huge it is!

as always I do not work for any makeup company, These brands are not paying me to review their products, and I bought everything with my own money.

Tarte for Trueblood "look a day" August 6th

Hey yall!
so today is a day at the pool so my look is really minimal but I thought I would upload anyways! UD primer potion makes pretty much everything waterproof including these shadows! Todays look is Bayou on the lid, Werewolf along the outer half of the lash line, and Fairy in the crease. I've already done a look with all 3 of these so look back for the specifics on each color.
heres the look, I used Bayou as a light wash of color. the camera doesn't do it justice.

i tightlined (not on my waterline but on my actual lashline. I cringe thinking of people putting liner on their waterline) with Physicians formula cream liner from the brown eyes trio!

Thanks for reading! only one more trueblood look to go!
